Detailed information

Historie

The two-storey representative baroque burgher house on the corner of Jacobsplatz and Michelsberger Strasse was built over a late medieval cellar in 1721-1725 according to plans by Leonhard Dientzenhofer.

The two houses, No. 4 and 5, made of sandstone blocks with a hipped gable roof, share a baroque façade with corner articulation and an arched portal. The building was internally altered after 1766. The coat of arms of the Gabsattel family was added around 1866.

The rear building of the former stables, now Michelsberger Straße 6, is also part of the complex. It is a single-storey building with a mansard hipped roof facing the courtyard, with a high plinth facing Michelsberger Straße from the 18th century. The interior of the building was rebuilt in 1936.

Current

Jacobsplatz 4-5 currently houses the premises of the Archbishop's Office.
