The exhibition ‘Good morning, Mr Dientzenhofer’ at Portheimka in Prague

The group exhibition ‘Good Morning, Mr Dientzenhofer’ responds to the Baroque spaces of Prague’s Portheimka, paying tribute to this architectural gem and its creator, Kilian Ignaz Dientzenhofer. After centuries, the building will once again come alive with a Baroque atmosphere, albeit through the lens of contemporary art.

Visitors will be confronted with the fundamental themes that visual artists living at the time the Smíchov villa was built emphasised in their work. How do motifs of intense spirituality, realistic physicality or stark reminders of the transience of human life manifest themselves in the work of contemporary artists?
