In 2026, Bamberg will become Germany’s Capital of Monuments
In 2026, Bamberg will host the national kickoff of the Open House of Historic Sites®, organized by the German Foundation for the Preservation of Historic Sites.
The city of Bamberg, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, will open its most significant historic buildings—as well as places not normally accessible to the public—to visitors and offer a rich accompanying program.

The unique atmosphere of this event is further enhanced by Bamberg’s rich architectural heritage, which was significantly shaped by the Dientzenhofer family—some of the most important architects of Central European Baroque.
